Fr. Jean Kawak is consecrated Metropolitan

On Sunday March 21, 2010 His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka, I Patriarch of Antioch and all the East presided over the Holy Qurbono at Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Ma’araat Saydnaya, Damascus- Syria.

During the Divine Liturgy His Holiness consecrated the Very Rev. Fr. John Aziz Kawak Metropolitan in charge of the Patriarchal offices in Damascus. Participating in the service were 13 metropolitans of the Church from different parts of the world. The new Metropolitan was given the Episcopal Name Dyonissios John. At the beginning of the elaborate spiritual ceremony the Fr. John read the profession of his faith and at the conclusion the new Metropolitan delivered his sermon. He thanked God Almighty for choosing him to be one of the Fathers of the Church. He likewise thanked His Holiness the Patriarch for his trust in him promising to execute his duties with faithfulness and tirelessly. He also thanked all the Archbishops and Bishops of our Church and those representing sister churches.

Following the consecration service all dignitaries and guests were invited to a local restaurant for lunch hosted by the council of the Patriarchal Diocese of Damascus.

His Eminence Mor Cyril Aphrem Karim participated in this blessed occasion and offered congratulations to the new Metropolitan Mor Dyonissios John Kawak on behalf of the clergy and all the parishioners of the Eastern Archdiocese wishing him a blessed and fruitful ministry in the vineyard of the Lord. His Eminence was accompanied by Mr. Chamoun Jallo, the president of St. Athansius church board in Tarpon Springs, FL.

മൂസാഗുര്‍ഗാന്റെ തമാശകള്‍

                      യാക്കോബായ സഭയും മെത്രാന്‍ കക്ഷിയും മുടക്കിയ റമ്പാനെ മുവാറ്റുപുഴ അത്താനാസിയോസിന്റെ സൃഷ്ട്ടിയായ മൂസാഗുര്‍ഗാന്‍ മെത്രാനായി വാഴിച്ചു.യാക്കോബായ സഭയുടെ ഗള്‍ഫ്‌ മേഖലയിലുള്ള ഒരു പള്ളിയില്‍ ശുശ്രുക്ഷ  ചെയിതു വരവേ പള്ളി ഭാരവാഹികളോ ഇടവക ജനങ്ങളോ അറിയാതെ പ്രസ്തുത റമ്പാന്‍ അമേരിക്കയിലേക്ക് കടന്നു.ഇതേ തുടര്‍ന്ന് പരി.പാത്രിയാര്‍ക്കീസ്‌ ബാവ ടിയാനെ മുടക്കി..അമേരിക്കയിലെത്തിയ റമ്പാന്‍ മെത്രാന്‍ കക്ഷി ബിഷപ്പിനെ കണ്ടു അവരുടെ കൂടെ ചേര്‍ന്ന് നടന്നു പള്ളി നടത്തി.ഇക്കാലഘട്ടത്തില്‍ വൈദീകന് ചേരാത്ത തരത്തില്‍ ജീവിച്ചത് മൂലം മെത്രാന്‍ കക്ഷി ബിഷപ്പ് റമ്പാനെ പുറത്താക്കി.ഇതിനു ശേഷം കുറെക്കാലത്തേക്ക് ഇദ്ദേഹത്തെ കുറിച്ച് വിവരമൊന്നും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.അടുത്തിടെ നാട്ടിലെത്തിയ ഇദ്ദേഹം യാക്കോബായ സഭയില്‍ ചേരാന്‍ ശ്രമം നടത്തി പരാജയപെട്ടിരിന്നു.

                   ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഇതാ ഗുര്‍ഗാന്‍ ബിഷപ്പ് ഇദ്ദേഹത്തെ തന്റെ കൂടെ കൂട്ടി ബിഷപ്പ് ആയി വാഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നാ വാര്‍ത്ത വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.മുവാറ്റുപുഴ അത്താനാസിയോസ് "കഞ്ഞികുഴി" സഭ വിട്ടു പുതിയ സഭ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നതിന്റെ മുന്നോടിയായിട്ടു വേണം ഇതിനെ കണക്കാക്കാന്‍.അത്താനും മണ്ണുത്തി ബിഷപ്പും ഗുര്‍ഗാനും ചേര്‍ന്ന് പുതിയ സഭയുണ്ടാക്കി കഞ്ഞികുഴി സഭയില്‍ നിന്നും പുറത്തു വരുന്നകാലം അതിവിദൂരമില്ല.

THIRUVANCHOOR: 30th Day remembrance of Suriyani Malphono Fr. Cherian Kottayil observed at St. Mary's JSO Valiya Pally here on March 20, Saturday. Metropolitan of Mylapore Diocese His Grace Mor Osthatheos Ishaq celebrated Holy Qurbono in Syriac. Cor Episcopas, Priests assisted. Deacons and Priests from MSOT Seminary led Ecchara. Later Dhoopa Prarthana was offered at Kottayil Achen's tomb at the church.

disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of

Timaeus, sat by the road begging. 47 And when he heard that it was

Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of

David, have mercy on me!” 48 Then many warned him to be quiet;

but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

49 So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called.

Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer.

Rise, He is calling you.” 50 And throwing aside his garment, he rose

and came to Jesus. 51 So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do

you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni,

that I may receive my sight.” 52 Then Jesus said to him, “Go your

way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his

sight and followed Jesus on the road. Mark 10:46-52

ഇടുക്കി ഭദ്രാസന യൂത്ത് അസോസിയേഷന്‍ രാജകുമാരിയില്‍ പണി കഴിപ്പിച്ച ഭവനത്തിന്റെ കൂദാശ അഭി.കുര്യാക്കോസ്‌ മോര്‍ ക്ലീമീസ് മെത്രാപ്പോലിത്ത നിര്‍വഹിക്കുന്നു.

 

അഖണ്ട പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥന

പിറവം വലിയ പള്ളിയില്‍ വ്യാഴാഴ്ച  വൈകിട്ട് ആരംഭിച്ച അഖണ്ട പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥന വികാരി വന്ദ്യ സൈമണ്‍ ചെല്ലീക്കട്ടില് കോര്‍ എപ്പിസ്കോപ്പ ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

അഞ്ചു  ദിവസമായി നടന്നു വന്ന സുവിശേഷ മഹായോഗത്തിന്റെ സമാപന ദിവസമായ വ്യാഴാഴ്ച (18/03/2010) സന്ധ്യ നമസ്കാരത്തെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് റവ ഫാ.തോമസ്‌ കൊച്ചുപറമ്പില്‍ സുവിശേഷ പ്രസംഗം നടത്തി.തുടര്‍ന്ന് രാത്രി 9 .30  നു കുടുംബ യൂണിറ്റു സെന്‍ട്രല്‍ കമ്മിറ്റിയുടെ ആഭിമുഖ്യത്തില്‍ ആരംഭിച്ച അഖണ്ട പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥന വികാരി വന്ദ്യ സൈമണ്‍ ചെല്ലീക്കട്ടില് കോര്‍ എപ്പിസ്കോപ്പ ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു. റവ ഫാ റോയ് മാത്യൂസ്‌ മേപ്പാടം,റവ ഫാ വര്‍ഗീസ് പനചിയില്‍, റവ ഫാ.തോമസ്‌ കൊച്ചുപറമ്പില്‍ എന്നിവര്‍ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥനയ്ക്ക് നേതൃത്വം നല്‍കി.

കൂത്താട്ടുകുളം മേഖല ഓഫീസിന്റെ കൂദാശയ്ക്ക് ഒരുക്കങ്ങളായി

പണി പൂര്‍ത്തിയായിവരുന്ന ബെത്ഹൂഭോ സെന്ററിലെ ചാപ്പല്‍

               കണ്ടനാട് ഭദ്രാസനത്തിലെ കൂത്താട്ടുകുളം മേഖല ഓഫീസിന്റെ "ബെത്ഹൂഭോ സെന്റര്‍" കൂദാശ ഏപ്രില്‍ 9 ,10 തീയതികളില്‍ നടക്കും.ആബൂണ്‍ മോര്‍ ബസേലിയോസ് തോമസ്‌ പ്രഥമന്‍ കാതോലിക്കബാവ കൂദാശ കര്‍മ്മം നിര്‍വഹിക്കും.നവഭിഷിക്ത്തരായ അഭി.മെത്രാപോലിത്തമാര്‍ക്ക് കൂത്താട്ടുകുളം മേഖലയുടെ സ്വീകരണവും അന്നേ ദിവസം നല്‍കും.കൂദാശയുടെ ഒരുക്കങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് വേണ്ടി കൂത്താട്ടുകുളത്തു ചേര്‍ന്ന യോഗത്തില്‍ ഭദ്രാസന മെത്രാപോലിത്ത അഭി.മാത്യൂസ്‌ മാര്‍ ഇവാനിയോസ് അധ്യക്ഷത വഹിച്ചു.ഭദ്രാസന സെക്രട്ടറി കമാണ്ടര്‍ കെ ഒ തോമസ്‌ ജനറല്‍ കണ്‍വീനര്‍ ആയി 101 അംഗ കമ്മിറ്റി തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു.റവ ഫാ.വര്‍ഗീസ് പനചിയില്‍ ,റവ ഫാ പോള്‍ പീച്ചിയില്‍,റവ ഫാ സാനു തിരുവല്ല,ശ്രീ മാമച്ചന്‍ പാലക്കുഴ,റെജി പി വര്‍ഗീസ് ,സിനോള്‍ വി സാജു ,റോയി ഡി പോള്‍ എന്നിവര്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തു .

Remembrance Meeting of Msabrono Nasiho Kuriakose Mor Koorilose & MBSC "A day with Metropolitans" program concluded.

MALLAPILLY: Remembrance of late Kuriakose Mor Koorilose & One Day camp organized by Mor Behnan Study Circle concluded. Representatives of MBSC from different parts of India were present for the function held here.

3th March: Remembrance meeting of Late Msabrono Nasiho Kuriakose Mor Koorilose was started with the welcome speech by Biju Varghese. H.G Geevarghese Mor Bernabas inaugurated the camp and stressed on the need for youth to come forward to spread the true Holy faith. Very Rev. Mathews Corepiscopa (Senior Priest of Niranam diocese) shared his memories of late Kuriakose Mor Koorilose. He also shared the hardships he undergone along with thirumeni to protect the true faith and to organize our faithful in southern dioceses. Biju Varghese ( Secratry of Viswasa Samrakshana Samithy Piravom St. Mary's JSO valiya Pally) delivered the remembrance speech. Mr. Idiculla (S.E BSNL) also shared his memories about thirumeni. Chevliar Bibby Abraham (Chief editor of Viswasasamrekshakan) delivered the facilitation speech. Rev Fr. Thomas Poothicode (Priest secretary Niranam Diocese), Rev Fr. Dr. Bensy Mathew, Rev Dn Thomas also spoke on the occasion. Sarun Maani Adukalil delivered vote of thanks.

Tea break was followed by a discussion session with Metropolitan Geevarghese Mor Bernabas (Metropolitan of Spiritual Organization). Rev Fr. Bensy Mathew & Rev Dn Thomas Poothicode lead the evening prayer at the camp. 

7.30 PM marked the begining of open discussion session with H.G Geevarghse Mor Coorilose (Metrapolitian of Niranam Diocese, Patriarchal Vicar of UK Diocese & WCC Moderator). Discussion session was given abreak at 8.30 followed by traditional Dinner. 11.PM Discussion session was concluded.

14th March: H.G Geevarghese Mor Coorilose arranged vehicle for camp members to attend Holy Mass at Kunnanthanam St. Peter's JSOC. Camp got disperrsed after the Holy Mass.

                 യൂത്ത് അസോസിയേഷന്‍ ദേശീയ  ജനറല്‍ അസംബ്ലി രാജകുമാരി  സെന്റ്‌ ജോര്‍ജ് പള്ളിയില്‍ വച്ച് നടന്നു.ദേശിയ പ്രസിഡണ്ട്‌ അഭി.പൗലോസ്‌  മാര്‍ ഐറെനിയോസ് തിരുമേനി  അദ്ധ്യക്ഷത വഹിച്ചു.  അഭി കുര്യാക്കോസ് മാര്‍ ക്ലീമീസ് തിരുമേനി ഉദ്ഘാടന കര്‍മ്മം നിര്‍വഹിച്ചു.അഭി കുര്യാക്കോസ് മാര്‍ ക്രിസോസ്റ്റമോസ് തിരുമേനി സന്നിഹിതനയിരിന്നു.യൂത്ത് അസോസിയേഷന്‍ ഭാവി പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ തീരുമാനിക്കുന്നതിനുവേണ്ടിയാണ് രണ്ടു ദിവസം നീണ്ടു നില്‍ക്കുന്ന ക്യാമ്പ്‌ നടത്തിയത്. പരിസ്ഥിതി പ്രശ്നങ്ങളും കയ്യേറ്റങ്ങളും നിലനില്‍ക്കുന്ന മൂന്നാര്‍ വിഷയത്തില്‍ സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ശക്തമായി ഇടപെടണമെന്നും ചെറുതും വലുതും ആയ എല്ലാ കയ്യേറ്റങ്ങളും ഒഴിപ്പിക്കണമെന്നും കേന്ദ്ര കമ്മിറ്റി ആവശ്യപെട്ടു. ദേശിയ വൈസ് പ്രസിഡണ്ട്‌ റവ ഫാ.ജോയ് ആനക്കുഴി,ജനറല്‍ സെക്രട്ടറി ബിജു തമ്പി,അങ്കമാലി ഭദ്രാസന യൂത്ത് അസോസിയേഷന്‍ സെക്രട്ടറി എം.എസ്‌ ബെന്നി,കണ്ടനാട്  ഭദ്രാസന യൂത്ത് അസോസിയേഷന്‍ സെക്രട്ടറി  റെജി പി വര്‍ഗീസ് , കോഴിക്കോട് ഭദ്രാസന യൂത്ത് അസോസിയേഷന്‍ സെക്രട്ടറി ജോര്‍ജ്,മുന്‍ ദേശിയ സെക്രട്ടറി ഷിബു വള്ളിക്കോട്,റോബി ഇടുക്കി,ബിജു സ്കറിയ എന്നിവര്‍ പ്രസംഗിച്ചു.

മുല്ലപെരിയാര്‍ സമര സമിതിയോട് അനുഭാവം പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ചു യൂത്ത് അസോസിയേഷന്‍ കേന്ദ്ര കമ്മിറ്റി മുല്ലപെരിയാര്‍ ഡാമിന് സമീപം നടത്തിയ ഉപവാസം അഭി.കുര്യാക്കോസ് മോര്‍ ക്ലീമീസ് തിരുമേനി ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

                 "പുതിയ ഒരു ഡാം പുതിയ കരാര്‍" എന്ന മുദ്രാവാക്യം ഉയര്‍ത്തി മുല്ലപെരിയറിനു സമീപം താമസിക്കുന്നവര്‍ നടത്തുന്ന സമരത്തിന്‌ പിന്തുണ കൊടുത്തുകൊണ്ട് യൂത്ത് അസോസിയേഷന്‍ കേന്ദ്ര കമ്മിറ്റി മുല്ലപെരിയറിനു സമീപം ഉപവാസ സമരം നടത്തി.അഭി കുരിയാക്കോസ്‌ മോര്‍ ക്ലീമീസ് തിരുമേനി സമരം ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയിതു.വൈസ് പ്രസിഡണ്ട്‌ റവ ഫാ ജോയ് ആനക്കുഴി അദ്ധ്യക്ഷത വഹിച്ചു.ആയിരകണക്കിന് ജനങ്ങളുടെ ജീവനും സ്വത്തിനും ഭീഷണിയായി നിലകൊള്ളുന്ന ഡാമിന് പകരം പുതിയ ഡാം പണിയണമെന്നും തമിഴ്നാടുമായി പുതിയ കരാര്‍ ഉണ്ടാക്കണമെന്നും ആവശ്യപെട്ടു 1174 ദിവസമായി മുല്ലപെരിയാര്‍ സമരസമിതി നടത്തി വരുന്ന സമരത്തിന്‌ യാക്കോബായ സഭയുടെ പൂര്‍ണ പിന്തുനയുണ്ടാന്നും കൂടുതല്‍ സമര പരിപാടികളുമായി മുന്നോട്ടു പോകുമെന്നും അഭി തിരുമേനി പറഞ്ഞു. 50 വര്‍ഷത്തെ ആയുസ് മാത്രമുള്ള ഡാം, നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകള്‍ പിന്നിട്ടു നാടിനു ഭീഷണിയായി നിലകൊള്ളുമ്പോള്‍ അധികാര വര്‍ഗ്ഗം കണ്ണടചു ഉറക്കം നടിക്കുകയനന്നും അഭി തിരുമേനി പറഞ്ഞു.ഇതിനു മുന്‍പ് പല തവണ യൂത്ത് അസോസിയേഷന്‍ ഈ വിഷയത്തില്‍ സമരം നടത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ജനറല്‍ സെക്രട്ടറി ബിജു തമ്പി സ്വാഗതം പറഞ്ഞു.അങ്കമാലി ഭദ്രാസന യൂത്ത് അസോസിയേഷന്‍ സെക്രട്ടറി എം എസ്‌ ബെന്നി ,കണ്ടനാട് ഭദ്രാസന യൂത്ത് അസോസിയേഷന്‍ സെക്രട്ടറി റെജി പി വറുഗീസ്‌,കോഴിക്കോട് ഭദ്രാസന യൂത്ത് അസോസിയേഷന്‍ സെക്രട്ടറി ജോര്‍ജ് എന്നിവര്‍ പ്രസംഗിച്ചു.

Miracle at the St. Mary's Syrian Church

The miracle that started in a simple looking icon of Mother Mary carrying Infant Jesus, printed in flex and kept at the chapel of our Kattachira St. Mary's Jacobite Syrian Church near Kayamkulam, is continuing for the 3rd consecutive day.
It was on October 21st that the women who gathered for Wednesday prayers first noticed the miracle. Thinking that the picture was wet because of rainwater the women took it and wiped it clean. But they noted that it is becoming wet again. They immediately called upon the Vicar, Rev Fr. Roy Kattachira, who also tried to wipe it clean many a times but noticed that a water like substance was still coming from the eye part. This happened on Wednesday the late-forenoon. One of our friends took a small video clipping in his mobile camera which is shown in the links as the 'first video footage'.On the next day Mor Thevodosius Mathews, the Metropolitan of our Kollam diocese under whom the parish comes, also visited the chapel and witnessed the same thing happening again. H.E wiped the picture clean using a soft cotton cloth, but in half an hour the oily fluid again started dripping from the same portion, ie; from the eye part of Mother Mary in the icon.

This simple looking icon of Mother Mary and infant Jesus, printed in flex material, is not a very old one and is not even properly framed, hence either sides are exposed. Since the news first spread the faithful from all denominations are visiting the church to see the miracle happening.
