St marys Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church

      SHEPPARTON AUSTRALIA: The people of Kerala, India are spread all over the world related to their job and thus some of them migrated to Australia. Among them few are settled in Bendigo and Shepparton as a community and keep their beliefs as their ancestors. About 15 such families are gathering in St. Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, North Shepparton, Community learning centre,10-14, Parkside Drive, Shepparton vic 3630. The Vicar for the parish is Rev. Fr. Boby Thomas since its inception in October 2010. St. Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Church is under His Holiness the Patriarch of Antioch & all the East Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka-I Iwas and His Beatitude the Catholicos Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas-I and His Grace Poulose Mor Iraneous. 

       The church members recently had Christmas carol singing in Bendigo on 15/ 12/2011 and the carol singing in Shepparton on 20/12/2011 with lot joy and enthusiasm. The Holy Qurbono will be celebrated on the first Saturday of every month at 10.00 a.m at the above venue under the leadership of Vicar Rev. Fr. Boby Thomas. The Church had to put up with stiff challenge, trials and tribulations, by God's grace, even now it continues to, practice the true Apostolic faith taught by its Holy fathers and be a part of the ancient Syrian Orthodox Church with its distinct identity.
